An Emotional Encounter with the Pope

Glyzelle Palomar gets a heartwarming hug from the Pope
From a street child who was already exposed to drugs and prostitution though she’s young, we think it is quite normal for her to wonder why those things happen. As she asked Pope Francis in Filipino, “Why does God allow this to happen,” she was not able to control her emotions and was not even able to finish her sentence before breaking down. Tears rush to fall from her innocent eyes which screams, “Children are innocent so why do these things need to happen?” The scene was so heart-breaking and at the same time is also heart-warming. It was heart-breaking to hear a child’s point of view from being a street kid to finding hope given  by God and a foundation who takes good care of her and several other street children. And it was very heart-warming to see Pope Francis hugging an innocent girl whose tears touched and gave us the feels. The article was written from the interviewer’s point of view.

In this article, the author had written in a way that the reader will easily understand. The author didn't use very complicated words in which will be hard for the reader to comprehend. It was very informative and could be easy to analyze. He has also expanded on the other speakers in the said event and didn't only focus on the little girl.

Momentous Visit of Pope Francis

The Pope at the University of Santo Tomas
When the Pope visited our country, some of us had the chance to see him in person and some don’t. His main purpose was to visit the victims of Typhoon Yolanda and to give a strong message to the Filipino people regarding mercy and compassion. He reminded also the people to avoid corruption and help the marginalized people. Even though the Pope visited us for a short period of time, all of us feel blessed when we saw him. We see him as a representation of Jesus Christ in this world. His presence in the country strengthened our Catholic faith and brought us closer to God. Seeing the Pope also gave us hope and inspiration. He was able to capture our hearts with his compassion to the Filipino people especially the poor, elderly and the children. We hope that the Pope would visit us again in the future so we will continuously be united and be inspired.

One of the great impacts to the society of Filipino is the increase of number of those who will take up priestly vocation but also in the number of missionaries. The hearts of the Filipino society bursted that their fighting spirit became even more powerful than before, especially the Yolanda victims. Greed, corruption, poverty of the mind and the spirit. We do not expect the Pope’s visit to solve all these, but his presence alone will certainly make a positive impact with long lasting effects for generations to come.
